La route du sel is so far my favorite place to go in the Loire region.
This little garden is very charming and offers great views on the Loire river. The perfect spot to enjoy a lunch al fresco!
Under those beautiful trees enjoy a delicious anguille fumée (their specialty!) followed by their fish of the day!
This year we shared few appetizers for the table homemade pâté, crispy squid with espelette and homemade crab cakes.
For my main course I had the fish of the day served with beurre blanc and sautéed chanterelles! It was so good!
For dessert, we shared their specialty “crémet du Thoureil” (soft cheese, whipped cream & a fruit compote) and their dessert of the day; soft biscuit with strawberries and whipped cream. Both were so tasty!
Next time we will try at dinner time to enjoy their sunset views on the Loire!
